I had a conversation recently with a friend that resonated with my deeply held beliefs around human potential. He said that there is a misnomer around extraordinary people. That misnomer is that we are just ordinary until we do something extraordinary.

Rather, just the fact that we are are here, as a living human organism, living on this unbelievable planet, makes us extraordinary. We don’t need to DO something extraordinary in order to be extraordinary. We are already extraordinary. And the more that we recognize and accept this very fact, the more that we will rise up to do extraordinary things, which will further confirm who we are, not make us who we are.

For those of a spiritual background, Romans 8:16-17 reaffirms this: The Spirit beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.

If this be true, and I attest that it is, then it is not only our physical DNA that creates such an impressive human body, but the spiritual DNA that connects all of us as sons and daughters of a King and part of a grand royal lineage.

When we stop to ponder upon this, it makes us look not only at ourselves differently, but at every person that crosses our path.
